Privacy policy
Last updated
- Your tasks stay on your iPhone and, if you turn on iCloud, in your own iCloud account. We can’t see them.
- We don’t ask for an account, and we don’t use analytics, ads or tracking.
- Apple handles payments. We never see your card or bank details.
- You can export or delete everything yourself in Settings.
Who we are
Dedot is made by , , Kuwait (“we”, “us”). For anything about privacy, email .
What Dedot stores, and where
- Your content: tasks, lists, checklists, notes, reminder times and the name you choose to show on Home. It is saved on your device.
- iCloud sync (if you turn it on): your content is copied to your private iCloud storage so it appears on your other Apple devices. Apple stores it under the Apple Privacy Policy. We have no access to it.
- Settings: your preferences, like when your week starts and your quiet hours, are saved on your device.
- Your calendar (only if you turn on Calendar on Today): the app reads your calendar events on your iPhone to show them on your timeline. It doesn’t copy them or send them anywhere.
- Plan my day: what you type or say is turned into tasks on your iPhone, using Apple’s on-device model where your iPhone has it. Speech is turned into text on your iPhone too, and the microphone is only used while you’re dictating. It all stays on your iPhone and is never sent to us.
None of this is sent to us.
What we don’t collect
We don’t collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, advertising identifier or browsing history. We don’t track you across other apps or websites, and we don’t sell or share personal data.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment and shares only what your device needs to unlock your subscription. Apple sends us sales reports that don’t identify you. To manage or cancel, use your App Store account settings.
Reminders and notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS. They don’t pass through our servers. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write. We use it only to reply and to fix problems you report. We keep these emails for , then delete them. Our email provider, , stores them for us and may hold them outside your country under its standard data protection terms.
Legal basis (EU and UK)
We process personal data only when you email us. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering you and improving the app.
How long data is kept
- Content on your device: until you delete it or delete the app.
- Content in iCloud: until you delete it in the app or in your iCloud settings.
- Support emails: .
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Because your tasks never reach us, you can do most of this yourself:
- Settings > Privacy and data > Export my tasks gives you a copy of everything.
- Settings > Privacy and data > Delete all data removes everything from the app and from your iCloud.
For support emails, write to . We reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example your local authority in the EU, the ICO in the UK, CITRA in Kuwait or SDAIA in Saudi Arabia.
Children
The app is a general productivity app. It is not made for children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect data from them.
Security
Your content is protected by your device’s encryption and, if you use iCloud, by Apple’s iCloud security.
US state privacy laws
We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t collect sensitive personal information. The rights above apply to residents of California and other states with privacy laws.
